Oh good, a study coming out that labels my generation as narcissistic, peachy. I bet if you did a study you could correlate scientific research, age, and crotchetiness. Hell I should do a study about it. The great part is that you see this happen wherever a hierarchy exists; just visit any college campus and talk to seniors, they'll tell you all about "how it used to be" and "how the young kids just have no respect." Rodney Dangerfield was onto something other than having a cool name (seriously, Dangerfield is awesome, right up there with max power).
